Signals & Stars
Every signal comes with a score and the reasons. This page explains when a signal fires, what the stars mean, and how to read the Why.
When a signal fires
Pro Signals V5 uses one trend engine: a Supertrend (period 11) for the trend and a 13-candle average for momentum. A signal is an arrow printed when the trend turns and momentum agrees:
- ▲ BUY: the trend turns up and the candle closes at or above the momentum line.
- ▼ SELL: the trend turns down and the candle closes below the momentum line.
You can see both lines on the chart by turning on Trend Line and Momentum Line.
The five stars
Each signal gets one star for every check it passes on the signal candle:
Which higher timeframes are used
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Up to 3m | Star 1 reads 15m, star 2 reads 1H |
| 5m to 10m | Star 1 reads 1H, star 2 reads 4H |
| 15m to 30m | Star 1 reads 4H, star 2 reads Daily |
| 1H to 2H | Star 1 reads Daily, star 2 reads Weekly |
| 4H to 1D | Star 1 reads Weekly, star 2 reads Monthly |
| Weekly and up | Star 1 reads Monthly, star 2 reads Yearly |
Higher timeframes are always read from their last closed candle, so the stars never change after the signal prints.
Reading the Why
Hover any signal label to see the checks in plain words, for example:
★ 1H trend agrees ★ 4H trend agrees ★ Volume above average ☆ Price is already in the reversal zone ★ Clean market, 1 trend change in 30 candles
The Chart Dashboard shows the same five checks, live, for the current candle.
How to use the stars
Signal Mode
| Setting | What it does | Default | When to change it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conservative | Widest trend (factor 5.0) and the widest stop. Fewest signals. | Default | Learning the indicator, swing trading, 1H and up |
| Balanced | Medium trend (factor 2.5) and a medium stop. | Intraday trading, 15m to 4H | |
| Aggressive | Tightest trend (factor 2.0) and the tightest stop. Most signals. | Fast charts, experienced traders only |
Minimum stars
Choose All signals, ★★ and up, ★★★ and up, ★★★★ and up, or ★★★★★ only. Signals below your minimum are hidden, and hidden signals are not tracked, drawn or alerted.
Exit Flags (✖)
When turned on, a ✖ prints if momentum turns against your open trade after the first target. It is a hint to take profit, not a new signal, and the trade keeps tracking. Find it under Momentum Tools.
