    Step by step

    1. 1
      Write down the firm's rules
Daily loss limit, maximum drawdown, news rules, and any minimum trading days.
    2. 2
Set risk small enough to survive a losing streak
At 0.5% risk, ten losses in a row cost about 5%. Check that fits inside your limits.
    3. 3
      Only take your best setups
A strict Minimum stars filter means fewer, cleaner trades.
    4. 4
Stop for the day after two losses
A simple rule that protects the daily limit.

    Managing the trade

    • Taking part at TP1 and moving the stop to entry reduces open risk quickly.
    • Don't hold trades through news if the firm restricts it.

    When to skip it

    • You're close to the daily loss limit.
    • News restrictions apply.

    Common mistakes

    • Raising risk near the end of an evaluation to hit the target.
    • Forgetting that open trades count toward drawdown on many firms.
