Step by step
- 1Trade the cash session hoursIndex futures are busiest when the underlying market is open.
- 2Respect the contract sizeIf the label shows less than one contract, the trade is too big for your risk. Use a micro contract or skip it.
- 3Take signals with room past yesterday's levelsPrevious day high and low are watched by many traders.
Managing the trade
- With multiple contracts, scale out one at each target.
- With one contract, choose one target in advance and stick to it.
When to skip it
- The label shows a size below your smallest available contract.
- Major economic data is due.
Common mistakes
- Rounding size up instead of down.
- Trading overnight sessions with day-session settings.
