Quick Start (5 minutes)

Already added SimpleAlgo V5 to your chart? This page gets you from a blank chart to your first managed trade. If the indicator isn't on your chart yet, start with Installation.

Step by step#

Open a liquid market on a clean chart
BTCUSD, EURUSD, ES/NQ futures, SPY or a large-cap stock. Remove other indicators so nothing competes for attention.

Pick your timeframe
15m or 1H for day trading, 4H or 1D for swing trading. Below 5m the signal count rises sharply and noise wins.

Set Sensitivity to match
Swing Trader (default) for 1H+, Day Trader for 15m-1H, Scalper for 1m-15m. Sensitivity is the single most important setting in V5.

Set your account size and risk %
In Trade Levels & Risk, enter your real account balance and 1-2% risk. V5 then prints the exact position size for every signal.

Turn on Entry · SL · TP
This is off by default. Turn it on so each signal draws your entry, stop, and 1:1 / 2:1 / 3:1 targets with size.

Create your first alerts
Add the Buy Signal and Sell Signal alerts so you never have to sit on the chart. See the Alerts page for the exact steps.

Your first-trade checklist#

A BUY ▲ or SELL ▼ label has printed on a closed bar.
Conviction is 75%+ (the label shows a +).
The Dashboard says Trending, not Choppy.
Dashboard Trend agrees with the signal direction.
Your stop is at the SL level — never wider, never mental.
Your size matches the Pos. Size row on the Dashboard.

The three mistakes new users make

1. Acting on an unconfirmed signal mid-bar. Wait for the candle to close.

2. Turning on every overlay at once. Start with the defaults; add one thing at a time.

3. Taking every signal. Low-conviction signals in a choppy market are the ones that hurt.
