Methodology & evidence

How our indicators work, and how to check for yourself

A screenshot of a winning chart proves nothing, and a win rate you can't reproduce isn't evidence. So this section contains neither. Instead: what the indicator measures, when a signal becomes final, where it performs badly, and a testing method you can run on your own market before spending anything.

No performance claims. You will not find a win rate, a return figure or a backtest statistic anywhere in this section — for our tools or anyone else's. Those numbers cannot be verified by the person reading them, so they are not evidence.

    Does it repaint?

The first question to ask about any indicator, because every other question is meaningless if the historical signals weren't the live ones. Includes a five-minute test you can run on any script.

    Why most indicators fail

Lag, curve-fitting, correlated confluence and survivorship bias — the four structural reasons a tool looks brilliant on a chart and does nothing for an account.

    How to test it yourself

A method that is genuinely capable of failing: rules written first, bar replay instead of hindsight, a fixed sample, and expectancy checked after real costs.

    How our system works

What SimpleAlgo V5 measures, when a signal is finalised, how stops and targets are derived from volatility, and the conditions where it performs badly.

    What we hold ourselves to

    No performance claims

We publish no win rate, no returns and no backtest statistics. No vendor can prove those figures to you, and a number you cannot verify is not evidence.

Signals finalise on the candle close

A signal that can be withdrawn was never a signal. Confirmation costs you the first part of a move — we'd rather state that cost than hide it behind early-signal settings.

Every claim has a test attached

Each page here ends with something you can run on your own market: a bar replay check, a logged sample, a cost calculation. Verification beats a testimonial.

    We publish the weak spots

Tight ranges, scheduled news, thin sessions and very low timeframes are conditions our tools handle poorly. They're named on the page, not in the small print.

Tools for running your own numbers

Expectancy, ruin risk and break-even costs decide whether a tested edge is tradable. All free, no sign-up.

Test it instead of trusting it

SimpleAlgo V5 marks trend direction, confirmed structure and volatility-based stop and target levels on your TradingView chart, with alerts on the closed candle — which means bar replay reproduces live behaviour and the testing method above actually applies. $24.95 per week, or $300 per year ($5.77 per week), with a 7-day money-back guarantee so the test fits inside the window.

    Frequently asked questions

Why don't you publish a win rate for your indicator?
Because it wouldn't be evidence. A win rate depends on the market, timeframe, session, exit rule and sample window chosen by whoever produced it, and none of those are yours. We publish the method instead, so you can generate the number on your own chart.
    Do SimpleAlgo signals repaint?
Signals are finalised on the close of the candle and do not disappear afterwards. Rather than take that on trust, run the five-minute bar replay test in our repainting guide — it works on our tools and on every other indicator in your list.
How long does a proper indicator test take?
About a week of evenings. A repaint check takes five minutes, a hundred logged bar-replay trades takes a few sessions, and the cost and expectancy maths takes an hour. Our 7-day guarantee window exists so that sequence fits inside it.
What does the indicator not do?
It does not execute trades, it does not predict the next candle, and it does not manage your position size. It measures direction, structure, participation and risk on charts you trade manually.
