Introducing Simple Oscillator Pro: Is Momentum With You or Against You?

We just released Simple Oscillator Pro, a brand new indicator for premium members. It isn't an update to the old Simple Oscillator. It's a completely new tool built around one question: is momentum with you or against you?

Simple Oscillator Pro under a TradingView chart

It sits in its own pane under your chart. It helps you read momentum and manage trades. It isn't a buy or sell signal.

What you see in the pane

The Simple Oscillator Pro pane up close

  1. Momentum Line (0 to 100). How far price is from its 13 bar average, measured in ATR. 50 means price is on its average. Above 50, momentum is up. Below 50, it's down. Because it's measured in ATR, a reading means the same thing on any symbol or timeframe.

  2. Pressure columns. Who's in control on recent candles, based on where each candle closes in its range and weighted by volume. Green above the midline means buyers are pushing. Red below means sellers are.

  3. Zones. The shaded areas above 80 and below 20, where moves tend to cool off.
  4. A quick tip: if the line is above 50 but the columns turn red, price is still extended but buyers are running out.

    Stars: five plain checks

You get one star for each check that passes, rated for the direction of the current trend:

  5. The next timeframe up trends the same way.

  6. The timeframe above that trends the same way.

  7. Volume is above its 20 bar average.

  8. There's room to run before the reversal zone.

  9. The market is clean, with 2 or fewer trend changes in the last 30 candles.
  10. The higher timeframes pick themselves based on your chart. Stars are a checklist, not a win rate. They don't predict the outcome of a trade.

    Trade Fuel

This is the part we're most excited about. Trade Fuel tracks trades with the same rules as Pro Signals V5, then tells you how much fuel is left:

  11. Strong (green): momentum and pressure both support the trade.

  12. Fading (purple): momentum agrees, but pressure has turned against it.

  13. Empty (red): momentum crossed to the other side of 50.
  14. Fading and Empty are good moments to manage the trade, like taking partial profit or tightening your stop.

    Weakening and Coiling

  15. Weakening (on by default) appears when price makes a new high or low but momentum is clearly weaker than the last strong push. You'll see a dashed line and a "weakening" label once it's confirmed, and it never repaints.

  16. Coiling (off by default) turns the columns purple when the market compresses. A bigger move often follows.
  17. There are also optional Momentum Shift dots, a Trend Strip for three timeframes, and a Trend Background.

Works with Pro Signals V5, or on its own

Simple Oscillator Pro runs on the same trend engine as Pro Signals V5. Use the same Signal Mode and Minimum stars in both and they'll agree. You don't need Pro Signals to use it, though.

    How to get it

Simple Oscillator Pro is included with every premium membership, and it's already been added to members' TradingView accounts.

  18. Open TradingView and click Indicators.

  19. Open the Invite-only scripts tab.

  20. Choose Simple Oscillator Pro. It opens in a new pane under your chart.
  21. Not a member yet? See Simple Oscillator Pro and everything else included.
