About Pullback Master
Pullback Master is a free, open-source trend and pullback indicator for TradingView. The trend average is price smoothed over 20 bars, and a fan of seven slower averages opens behind it in a trend and collapses in chop.
Every time price comes back to the trend average and lifts off again, that is a pullback that held. The script counts it, measures how deep it went in ATRs, and notes whether it closed through the average on the way.
There are no labels on the chart. The ribbon charges up with each pullback that holds, brightest around the second and third, and fades as the trend gets old. The panel in the corner says it in words, and alerts are decided on closed bars.
What it does
- Trend average with a fan of seven slower averages behind it
- Stands aside in chop, with Relaxed, Normal and Strict trend settings
- Counts every pullback that holds and measures its depth in ATRs
- Notes whether each pullback held cleanly or closed through the average
- Ribbon brightness shows the pullback count without labels
- Corner panel, plus an alert for the pullback number you choose
