How to Save a Chart Layout on TradingView
A layout stores everything about the chart: symbol, timeframe, indicators and their settings, drawings, colours and the pane arrangement. A template stores only the indicators. Knowing which one you want saves a lot of rebuilding.
Saving a layout
Set the chart up exactly as you want it.
Click the cloud icon in the top toolbar (or press Ctrl/Cmd + S).
Choose Save As and give it a descriptive name — "Forex 15m", "BTC swing", "Clean".The layout name appears in the top toolbar. Clicking the arrow beside it opens the list of all saved layouts; selecting one loads it instantly.
Plan note
the free plan stores one saved layout. Paid plans store multiple. If you're on free, keep one good layout and use indicator templates for variations — templates aren't subject to the layout limit.
Setting a default
In the layout dropdown, open the three-dot menu next to a layout and choose Make default. New charts and shared links you open will use that setup rather than TradingView's stock chart.

Practical use: one layout as your general workspace, plus two or three indicator templates — "trend only", "full", "clean price" — that you swap in without changing symbol.Multi-chart layouts
Paid plans allow 2, 4, 6 or 8 charts in a grid (the grid icon in the top toolbar). Save the grid as a layout and you get an entire multi-timeframe workspace in one click. Use the link icon in each pane's corner to sync symbol, crosshair, time range or interval between panes — syncing symbol but not interval is the standard multi-timeframe setup.
Keeping layouts tidy
Rename rather than duplicate. Five layouts called "Copy of Chart" is the same problem as no layouts.
Delete drawings you no longer act on before saving; old trendlines are the main source of chart noise.
Autosave is on by default — if you want a layout frozen, make your changes on a duplicate instead.Drawings and templates
Drawing tools have their own templates too: configure a tool's style, then use the template menu in its settings to save it. Your Fibonacci retracement will then always come up with the levels and colours you actually use.
