How to Save and Reuse an Indicator Template on TradingView
If you rebuild your chart every time you open a new symbol, you are wasting several minutes a day. Templates fix that.
Save an indicator template
Apply a template
Open the same Indicator templates menu and click any saved template. Every indicator in it loads with your exact settings, replacing whatever was on the chart.
This is why a "Clean" template with zero indicators is worth saving — it is a one-click reset.
Set a default template
In the templates menu, hover a template and choose Set as default. New charts open with that setup automatically.
What templates do and do not include
Included: indicators, their inputs, their styles, and optionally the interval.
Not included: drawings, chart type, colour theme, and symbol. For those, save the chart layout instead (Ctrl/Cmd + S), which stores the whole workspace.
Use both together: layouts for a full workspace you return to, templates for quickly re-skinning any symbol.
A workflow that works
Keep three templates:
Move between them as you go from scanning to deciding to executing. It keeps the chart matched to the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where are indicator templates saved?
To your TradingView account, not your device — they sync to any browser or the mobile app when you sign in.
Do templates save my drawings?
No. Templates save indicators and their settings. Save the chart layout to keep drawings.
How do I delete an indicator template?
Open the templates menu, hover the template name, and click the delete icon next to it.
Can I share a template with someone else?
Not directly. Templates are account-bound; share a chart layout link or a screenshot of the settings instead.
Shortcut
SimpleAlgo members get a preconfigured template as part of setup, so a new symbol is one click away from a full setup. See the indicator suite.
